Bayer recruits Bartner in North America

Bayer HealthCare has recruited Sanofi's Natalie Bartner as president of its Consumer Care business in North America.
Bartner takes over from Timothy Hayes, who is leading the integration of Merck Consumer Care following Bayer's US$14.2 billion acquisition of the business from US-based Merck & Co in 2014.

Bayer said Bartner reported directly to Bayer Consumer Care's worldwide president Erica Mann, and was a member of the global management team for Consumer Care. She is based in the US at Whippany, New Jersey.

The company pointed out that Bartner had more than 25 years of experience in the OTC and pharmaceutical industries.

She joins Bayer from Sanofi, where she was vice-president and head of commercial strategy and operations and deputy to the president of the North America Pharmaceuticals business.

Previously with Pfizer Consumer Healthcare

Prior to joining Sanofi in 2012, Bartner was with Pfizer Consumer Healthcare – formerly Wyeth Consumer Healthcare – where her roles included executive vice-president of the Nutritionals & Topicals business unit and executive vice-president of the Respiratory business unit. She was responsible for brands such as Advil Cold & Sinus, Centrum and Robitussin.

Commenting on Bartner's appointment, Mann said she was thrilled to have someone of her "calibre, industry perspective and deep understanding of the non-prescription, OTC business" join Bayer Consumer Care at an exciting time for the business.
